Community Projects
"The
experience of seeing the world from the mountain top has taught
me how to live my daily life when I come back to the valley.
And I want to share the joy and hope with people around me."
Swee
Chiow believes in leveraging on what he loves to do to help
his community. Thus, he combines his love for adventure with
community work.
In June 2005, Swee Chiow led a group of students from CARE
(Children-At-Risk Empowerment Association) to Mt Ophir.

In December 2001, Swee Chiow and Wee Leng took part in a marathon
relay to raise funds for schools.
In
July 2001, Swee Chiow joined an international team of 7 Everest
climbers to climb Mt Ararat in Turkey and raised funds for AKUT
(Turkey Search and Rescue Association) and Babu Chiri School
Fund. See also Ararat Peace Climb.
In
June 2001, together with 25 cyclists, he participated in Riding
For Life to raise funds for Action For Aids. The total
funds raised was S$50,000. See also Other Events.
In
year 2000, he assisted Springfield Secondary School in training
for their mountaineering expedition to Nepal. He also went to
Mt Kinabalu with students from Hai Sing Catholic School.

As
part of the North Pole expedition, he collaborated with Marine
Parade Community Development Centre to raise funds for the intellectually
disabled children and the tetraplegics.
The mission was named Extreme North Charity Mission. The total
amount raised was $255,000.00.
