has played an important role in providing facility, manpower
and personal advice in expeditions such as Antarctica, 7 Summits
and North Pole.
Swee
Chiow training intensively for North Pole 2002. SPARKc
kindly allowed him to use the facility.
Institute
Of Mental Health
IMH
provided psychological training and profiling for the Antarctica
team in 1999. The professional assistance given definitely helped
each member to be more aware of team dynamic. The psychologists
also taught the team some basic skills in coping under pressure.

Airlines
While
he was a staff in SIA, the company gave Swee Chiow time off
for Everest, Antarctica and 7 Summits expeditions. Without the
support of an understanding employer like SIA, it is impossible
for Swee Chiow to achieve the results.
Mr.
Ong Kim Seng AWS, DF
Singapore's
icon and world famous water color painter, Mr. Ong Kim Seng,
has kindly agreed to paint "7 Summits" and donated
the painting to Swee Chiow for his 7 Summits fundraising campaign
in year 2000.
The
painting was sold for S$10,000. See 7 Summits in Expeditions.
Family
"Without
her unwavering support and understanding, there will be no
Everest
for me."
His wife Wee Leng has been his pillar of strength throughout
his years of adventure. She is an adventurer in her own right.
She was in the Singapore National Dragon Boat Team, Co-leader
of 1st Singapore Team to Eco-Challenge Sabah 2000 and has
completed 2 marathons.
Wee Leng is the 1st Singaporean woman to climb Aconcagua (6962m),
the highest peak in South America and one of the 7 Summits.
Their little one, Khoo Sheng Feng, born 30 Nov 2003, is now
his biggest motivation to complete an expedition and come
home safely.

Friends
Whenever
Swee Chiow goes on an expedition, he knows his friends and
even people whom he has not met, are rooting and praying for
him. His success and joy is shared with them when he returns
home.
